After three years of careful restoration, Sebay Mill opened its doors in 2003, creating six luxury self-catering apartments. Situated just 10 minutes from the main town of Kirkwall, its great location and unbeatable views make Sebay Mill the ideal place for visitors seeking the true Orkney.

Each one to two bedroom apartment is uniquely different catering for the many needs of visitors including providing disabled access. The apartments have been designed and finished to the highest standard and are complemented with local artworks and artefacts whilst Orkney books, maps and produce will welcome you on arrival.

The Mill was once responsible for grinding all the grain for the community but now, after careful restoration, it has the proud distinction of being Orkney’s first self-catering establishment to achieve five star status. In 2005 it was recognised by receiving the prestigious Laura Grimond Award, given to promote excellence in the built environment of Orkney. Added to that was the highly prized Scottish Tourist Board Special Achievement Award the year after.
